A new cruise ship destination created for the world's two largest cruise ships, Royal Caribbean International’s Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas (5,400 passengers each), Historic Falmouth, Jamaica is regarded as the largest development project in the Caribbean basin to open in recent years.

Opened in March 2011, Royal Caribbean and the Jamaica Port Authority are the joint developers of the $170 million project. Home to two post-Panamax cruise ship docks, a themed 120,000 Square Foot shopping center, and a variety of activities including museums and excursions, Falmouth is projected to receive one-million visitors annually by 2016, making it the Caribbean’s fifth largest cruise destination and the world’s tenth largest.
