Banana Coast, the first mainland cruise destination in Honduras, is under construction for a 2012 opening. Themed “Where the Rainforest Meets the Sea,” Banana Coast will ultimately host post-Panamax cruise ships into the Bay of Trujillo.

The project is being developed by the Grande Trujillo Authoridad; a partnership between the Municipality of Trujillo, an Investor Group, and Life Vision Developments; in partnership with Global Destinations.

Banana Coast Landing consists of a dock capable of accommodating up to two post-Panamax cruise ships, a themed retail shopping destination of 50,000 Square Feet, a transportation hub, and an excursions marina. Guests will depart on an array of tours featuring the fabulous flora and fauna of Honduras’ North Coast, cultural and historical exhibits. The projects represent a US$20 million investment. Global Destinations is co-developing the project.
