Bruce Hayden is a seasoned financial management specialist with over thirty years of experience in the hospitality industry. He is Director of Finance at Global Destinations and manages banking, escrow, and capital management for the ownership and investment group. In addition, he leads property improvement and asset management analyses.
Mr. Hayden is regarded as an expert in hospitality finance and management including asset management, property management, accounting, internal audit, reservations systems and financial controls of hotels with complex operations and ownership structures.
He began his hospitality career as a summer job during college and developed a track record of progressive promotions and leadership roles with Hilton Hotels. Of note, Mr. Hayden was Director of Finance at Hilton’s wholly-owned and flagship property, the Hilton Hawaiian Village, with 3,500 guest rooms, and at the Hilton Anaheim, the Hilton Los Angeles Airport and at Hilton Hotels in Hawaii, Florida, and Washington, D.C. He worked with asset managers for the Hilton-managed properties to enhance the value of each individual property by improving returns in key operating areas.
Mr. Hayden’s most recent position at Hilton was Area Controller-East where he was responsible for fourteen Hilton properties in Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York and Boston, with the property Controllers reporting to him. In addition to the operational duties of this position, Mr. Hayden conducted annual audits of the properties.
Mr. Hayden provided capital project reporting, approved capital expenditures in excess of $450 million, and participated in all aspects of the design and construction of major projects, such as the Kalia Tower at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the complete renovation of the Capitol Hilton.
In 2009, Mr. Hayden joined Global Destinations, where he is valued for his banking, comptroller and asset management expertise. For Global Destinations Mr. Hayden spent two weeks per month on property in The Bahamas and successfully implemented the internal control program for the rooms department, food and beverage, marina, inventory, payroll, and security at the Bimini Bay Resort.
Mr. Hayden is the past president of Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals (HFTP), Orange County, California Chapter. He has received several awards for leadership from the Hilton Hotels in which he served. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Florida.
