The Fitness Test is constituted by four (4) major categories for evaluation of a destination's health and viability:
- Physical Conditions & Operations
- Guest Experience
- Operating Experience, Brand Equity & Market Appeal
- Onboard Revenue Potential & Costs of Calling (for Cruise Lines)
Within each of the four major categories are four subcategories, which drive down into more specific items.
The system not only provides a realistic assessment of the destination's suitability for cruise shipping but also employs similar standards by which cruise lines utilize to analyze the feasibility of destinations and ports-of-call.
