The Fitness Test is constituted by four (4) major categories for evaluation of a destination's health and viability:

  1. Physical Conditions & Operations
  2. Guest Experience
  3. Operating Experience, Brand Equity & Market Appeal
  4. Onboard Revenue Potential & Costs of Calling (for Cruise Lines)

Within each of the four major categories are four subcategories, which drive down into more specific items.

The system not only provides a realistic assessment of the destination's suitability for cruise shipping but also employs similar standards by which cruise lines utilize to analyze the feasibility of destinations and ports-of-call.
