Principal Michael Greve has been involved in the successful development and marketing of numerous ports-of-call since the firm's inception in 2001. Notable projects include Carnival Corporation's Mahogany Bay, Roatan; Royal Caribbean's Town Center at the Port of Roatan; Carnival's Grand Turk Cruise Center; the Port of Quebec City, Canada; Icy Strait Point, Alaska; and the Port of Falmouth, Jamaica, a partnership between the Government of Jamaica and Royal Caribbean, which opened in 2011. Global maintains close relationships with the major cruise lines, serving as a strategic consultant and development partner. Global is a consultant to numerous port authorities, cruise associations, and Caribbean governments.
Viking Maritime Consulting and principal Captain Kaare Bakke assist Global on the marine, nautical and technical aspects of our fitness tests. A pioneer of destination development, Captain Bakke has thirty-two years of experience working for a major cruise line and is regarded as a leading expert in worldwide cruise ship operations. He was Vice President, Port Operations for Norwegian Cruise Line, where he was responsible for the creation of all ship itineraries.
Captain Bakke and Viking Maritime's contributions are focused on marine and nautical planning, risk assessment, cruise itineraries, including all ship speed and distance issues and the details of each sailing.
Also consulting is Robert Kaiser, our creative lead from Designage Inc. A regular Global team member, Robert drives vision planning and artwork related to capital improvements and town ambiance enhancements identified in the fitness tests. Robert is a recognized thirty-year artist and vision planner. He has successfully led creative design projects for companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Warner Brothers, Hilton Gaming Corporation, Baseball Cafe at Tokyo Dome, Radio City Music Hall Showcase, Hilton Grand Vacations, Daytona USA, and at "The Palm" Jumeirah in the United Arab Emirates.
